Public Notice: Grass Clippings on City Streets
The City of Polo and the Polo Police Department remind residents and landscaping contractors that blowing or leaving grass clippings on public streets is prohibited under City Ordinance § 50.006.
Grass clippings on roadways can create hazardous conditions for motorists, motorcyclists, bicyclists, and pedestrians. They can also clog storm drains, contribute to localized flooding, and increase roadway maintenance costs.
The Polo Police Department will be actively enforcing this ordinance. Violations are subject to penalties under City Ordinance § 50.999, including a $75 ordinance citation.
Residents are encouraged to direct grass clippings back onto their lawns or properly dispose of them rather than allowing them to enter the street.
Thank you for helping keep the City of Polo safe, clean, and attractive for everyone.
